Diego Milito scored both goals as Inter Milan sealed an historic treble and ended a 45-year wait to be crowned king of Europe after defeating Bayern Munich 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League final in Madrid.

Palermo has signed former-Azzurro and Benfica striker Fabrizio Miccoli after agreeing to a 4.3 Million Euro transfer fee with the recently promoted Juventus.
Inter are the Champions of Italy for a fourth consecutive season and were able to celebrate on President Massimo Moratti's birthday after the Nerazzurri defeated Siena 3-0 and AC Milan lost to Udinese 2-1.

Despite losing 1-0 away against defending Champion Zenit St. Petersburg Italy's last hope for European glory, Udinese, went through to the quarter finals of the 2008/09 UEFA Cup and will face Germany's Werder Bremen which dumped AC Milan from the competition.
