Matt Giteau inspired a great Western Force comeback with a brilliant second-half solo try to earn the visitors a 16-all draw in the Super 14 game against the Waratahs at Aussie Stadium, Sydney on Friday night.
Giteau's class was clearly evident in dull, mistake riddled game which did little to enthuse rugby fans.
After the Force trailed 13-0 after only 20 minutes, Giteau took charge to send fullback Drew Mitchell over for Force's first try in the 24th minute before mesmerising the Waratahs defence straight after half-time.
Trailing 13-11 at the break, Giteau shredded the NSW defence from a standing start stepping inside lock Will Caldwell, dashing past Wycliff Paul and beating Kurtley Beale to score. Waratahs 16 Tries: Turinui Conversions: Hewat Penalties: Hewat 3
Western Force 16 Tries: Mitchell, Giteau Penalties: Shepherd 2
