The Brumbies face the Chiefs in their opening match of the Super 14 season in Hamilton on February 3.

The New South Wales Waratahs have named Sam Norton-Knight as captain for their Rotomahana Challenge match against the Crusaders at Aussie Stadium on Thursday.

The Waratahs will be boosted by the appearance of seven Wallabies players including Lote Tuqiri, Morgan Turinui, Josh Valentine, Wycliff Palu, Al Baxter, Tatafu Polota-Nau and Benn Robinson.

Coach Ewen McKenzie said the hit-out would be a good opportunity for players to press for selection for the team's season-opening Super 14 match on Friday February 2.
