Sixth-place Empoli was held to a 0-0 draw by Cagliari on Saturday in the Serie A, a result that could hurt the Tuscan club's chances of playing in Europe next season. Juventus continued its winning ways in Lecce in Serie B.

Empoli has 46 points, one fewer than fifth-place AC Milan and five ahead of rapidly rising Fiorentina.

The top four teams qualify for the Champions League and the next two gain UEFA Cup berths.

Also, Antonio Di Natale scored the winner as Udinese beat Chievo Verona 2-1 and Mauro Camoranesi scored one and goal set up another to lead Serie B leader Juventus over Lecce 3-1.

Empoli had a goal annulled in the 15th minute at Cagliari when Luca Saudati was ruled offsides before connecting on a bicycle kick.

Michele Ferri had a chance for Cagliari in the 68th but Empoli goalkeeper Davide Bassi dove to push the ball wide.

Camoranesi's dribbling led to Marco Marchionni's goal in the 12th minute at Lecce's Via del Mare stadium. The Italy midfielder then dribbled past three defenders before scoring with a long shot in the 64th.

In between, Tiziano Polenghi temporarily equalized for Lecce with a header off a free kick in the 15th and Marcelo Zalayeta restored Juve's lead with a shot from the edge of the area in the 47th.

Juventus, which was penalized nine points in the Italian match-fixing scandal, leads the second division with 65 points. Second-place Genoa has 58 points after beating Bologna 3-0 Friday.

Juventus also argued for a penalty on an alleged handball in the first half and Lecce was upset that Giorgio Chiellini received only a yellow card for sticking his foot up in the face of forward Pablo Osvaldo in the 60th.

In Udine, Chievo went ahead in the seventh minute. Sergio Pellissier used one touch to redirect a long pass over charging goalkeeper Morgan De Sanctis.

Vincenzo Iaquinta equalized for Udinese in the 34th with a header and Di Natale's winner came in the 74th with a bouncing shot from the center of the area.

A hard shot by Udinese midfielder Sulley Muntari banged off the crossbar in the 79th.

Udinese moved into a tie for eighth with Sampdoria with 39 points each. Chievo is fifth from the bottom and only three points clear of the relegation zone.

Both teams ended with 10 men after defenders Andrea Coda (Udinese) and Fabio Moro (Chievo) picked up their second yellow cards in the closing minutes. Reuters

La Juventus corre forte. Passa anche a Lecce, 3-1, trascinata da un Camoranesi in giornata di grazia. L'italoargentino, quando ha la luna buona, è un lusso enorme per la serie B. Serpentine secche, tocchi morbidi, corsa incessante, visione di gioco sapiente e conclusioni velenose. Oggi ha messo in cassaforte i tre punti dei bianconeri con un gioco di prestigio che ha originato il primo gol di Marchionni, poi dopo il pari di Polenghi e il 2-1 di Zalayeta ha chiuso la gara con una perla da standing ovation. Il campione del mondo ha preso palla sulla destra, si è inventato un triplo dribbling in orizzontale e poi ha disegnato un sinistro geometrico sul palo lungo: il 3-1 definitivo. Così la Juve ha riportato a 7 i punti di vantaggio in classifica sul Genoa, seconda forza del campionato. E non era facile: il Lecce si è dimostrato squadra in salute, e poi a Deschamps mancavano cinque titolari acciaccati: Boumosong (e non è una calamità), ma anche Zanetti, Giannichedda, Del Piero e Trezeguet (buono solo per pochi spiccioli di tempo nel finale di gara).

Genoa travolgente 3-0 al Bologna
