Albinoleffe has maintained its Serie B lead after disposing of Triestina 5-1 while Pisa was good enough to win away in Vicenza 3-1 to keep the gap to only one point in Round 13.

Albinoleffe 5-1 Triestina
Albinoleffe went clear at the top of the table with a crushing victory over Triestina. Cellini converted a penalty on the half-hour mark and Sedivec drew level as well as giving Granoche a chance to turn it around. However, the home side restored their lead in stoppages with Cristiano and ran riot after Rossetti’s foolish dismissal for a foul on Garlini. Cellini, Madonna and Ferrari rounded out the scoreline as they tore Triestina’s defence to pieces.

Ascoli 2-1 Treviso
Treviso are in poor form and slid into the bottom three. Soncin took the game in hand during the opening phase, netting from open play and then converting a penalty. Bepi Pillon’s side could only make their mark in stoppages through Beghetto. There was a curious moment at half-time when referee Marelli went off injured to be replaced by fourth official Manna.

Bari 0-0 Brescia
Brescia lose sight of the top of the table with this disappointing setback at the Stadio San Nicola. In fact, Bari had the best chances in the first half with Stellini, Santoruvo and Lanzafame. Their current stuttering form has taken its toll on the Rondinelle, who saw Possanzini sent off. Allegrini was also dismissed late on.

Cesena P-P Lecce
Postponed due to death of Lecce staff member Antonio De Giorgi, the kit manager struck by a lightning bolt at the Stadio Via del Mare on Thursday afternoon.

Chievo 4-1 Messina
Chievo got back on track by demolishing the Sicilians at the Stadio Bentegodi, although the trend continues whereby the defenders are turning hitmen. It took just five minutes for Cesar to break through, although Messina fought back and would have equalised had D'Aversa's effort not cannoned off the crossbar and Biancolino not seen his penalty saved by Squizzi. Pestrin did get the visitors level from distance, but only for six minutes until Mantovani’s strike. In the second half it was one-way traffic with Bentivoglio's free kick and Moro meeting a set-piece.

Frosinone 2-2 Piacenza
Piacenza completed a remarkable comeback to grab a point. Frosinone thought the victory was safe and sound after Martini’s brace in the opening 27 minutes – his first goals of the season. However, Rantier opened it up again straight after the restart. Dedic smacked the crossbar for Frosinone and it proved a crucial moment, as deep into stoppages Simon snatched an unexpected equaliser, but Piace remain in the wrong end of the table.

Grosseto 2-1 Avellino
Grosseto’s hopes of a mid-table spot were boosted by this victory against struggling Avellino. Lazzari opened the scoring, but Carparelli wasted the opportunity to make it 2-0 from the spot when Pantanelli saved the penalty. It almost proved a costly error, as Salgado drew the visitors level, but late on former Livorno striker Paulinho ensured a deserved win.

Mantova 0-1 Rimini
Mantova continue their Jekyll & Hyde campaign with another setback on home turf against fellow promotion hopefuls Rimini. They had plenty of possession, but couldn’t make the most of them, only threatening through Fiore’s free kick. Substitute Ricchiuti snatched all three points for the visitors 11 minutes from time.

Modena 1-2 Bologna
Bologna win the bragging rights in the Emilia derby and three precious points in the race for promotion. Confalone broke through with a fierce right-foot strike from distance and although Modena went close, Adailton wasted the chance to put the result beyond doubt by seeing Frezzolini parry his penalty. Di Gennaro managed to double the Rossoblu’s advantage, but late on Longo’s spot-kick threatened a Canarini comeback.

Ravenna 2-2 Spezia
This bottom of the table clash saw a share of the points thanks to Pivotto’s last-gasp equaliser. Spezia had quickly taken control through Guidetti pouncing on a defensive error. Although Succi had added to his impressive tally of seven goals this term, Guidetti completed his brace. Spezia’s visiting fans were already celebrating when defender Pivotto struck to silence them.

Vicenza 1-3 Pisa
Pisa continue their extraordinary away record this season to stay hot on the heels of leaders Albinoleffe. Rigoni had given Vicenza the early lead on the counter-attack, but Carrozza was brought down for a Castillo spot-kick and Raimondi’s goalline clearance denied Masiello before Kutuzov’s solo effort. Castillo would have increased Pisa’s dominance at the Stadio Menti, but he mis-kicked another penalty – again for a foul on Carrozza. Rigoni saw red before Hungarian Rajczi sealed the 3-1 scoreline.'
