David Beckham scored his second goal in as many games for AC Milan but Genoa spoiled the Rossaneri's party as Diego Milito equalised for a 1-1 draw at the San Siro. Inter Milan won away in Catania and Juventus lost in Udine.

Inter Milan have extended their advantage at the Serie A summit to six points with a 2-0 win at Catania while nearest challengers Juventus lost 2-1 at Udinese.

Inter suffered a setback with the first-half dismissal of Sulley Muntari but goals from Dejan Stankovic and Zlatan Ibrahimovic ensured three points for the champions.

Juventus, meanwhile, slipped to a surprise defeat at struggling Udinese.

Fabio Quagliarella and Antonio Di Natale secured a sublime victory for Pasquale Marino's side with Vincenzo Iaquinta's 77th-minute penalty not enough to salvage a point for Claudio Ranieri's team.

It turned out to be a good night all round for Inter with their arch-rivals AC Milan held to a 1-1 draw at home to Genoa.

David Beckham scored his first goal at the San Siro with an unstoppable free-kick in front of England coach Fabio Capello, but Diego Milito nicked a point for the visitors with his 13th goal of the season.

Roma remain fifth after a 2-1 win at home to Palermo.

Captain Francesco Totti, making his first appearance of 2009, opened the scoring midway through the first half and then set up a second for Matteo Brighi after Edison Cavani had restored parity.

Fiorentina leap-frogged Napoli into sixth spot with a 2-1 triumph against the Partenopei.

The hosts took the lead two minutes into the second half through Mario Santana only for Luigi Vitale to level matters two minutes later.

Riccardo Montolivo put the Viola ahead for a second time with 11 minutes remaining and this time it proved decisive. Napoli's woe was compounded by the last-minute dismissal of Francesco Montervino.

Cagliari continue to impress as Robert Acquafresca's first-half strike sunk Siena.

Two goals in three second-half minutes gave Sampdoria a 3-1 victory over Lazio to keep the hosts three places clear of the drop zone.

Gennaro Delvecchio put the Blucerchiati in the lead with the first meaningful attack of the match on 14 minutes, before Tommaso Rocchi returned fire for the visitors to send the sides in level at the break.

Former Real Madrid striker Antonio Cassano restored Samp's lead after 51 minutes and Marius Stankevicius made sure of the points with a third goal soon afterwards - rendering a missed penalty by Claudio Bellucci irrelevant.

Bologna moved five points clear of the Serie A drop zone with a late 1-0 victory at Atalanta. Sergio Volpi's long-range free-kick 10 minutes from time was the difference between the teams.

Andrea Mantovani's late leveller salvaged a 1-1 draw for Chievo against Lecce in a match which saw both sides finish with 10 men.

The visitors led for more than half an hour thanks to Giuseppe Vives' 56th-minute opener, but Mantovani struck with just two minutes left to nick a point.

Chievo had Davide Mandelli dismissed five minutes into the second half and Lecce's Fabiano joined him in not finishing the game when he was red-carded 10 minutes from time.

Two sides mired in the relegation zone failed to grasp the chance to ease their worries as Torino were held to a goalless draw by bottom side Reggina.
