David Trezeguet scored a 93rd minute winner for Juventus against Torino while Empoli, Genoa, Cagliari, Udinese, Sampdoria, Fiorentina and Inter Milan all won in week 6 of Serie A action.

Ludovic Giuly's foolish attempt at being a goalkeeper left Roma with 10 men for over an hour and Inter took full advantage, crushing their title rivals 4-1 and ending their unbeaten record.

The home side got off to a blistering start, as within the opening two minutes Julio Cesar had been forced into two tough saves on Francesco Totti's free kick and Amantino Mancini's follow-up from point-blank range.

The game turned after 28 minutes. Inter went on the counter from a sloppy Totti corner kick and Simone Perrotta slipped, letting Cesar through. Doni performed a great one-handed save to deny the former Lazio man, but Ibrahimovic's lob was cleared off the line by Ludovic Giuly's arm.  

The red card and penalty were inevitable, as Ibrahimovic buried the spot-kick low into the far corner to give the Nerazzurri the lead against 10-man Roma. Giuly's 'save' seemed to be an instinctive motion, but only made a bad situation even worse.

Roma seemed to have regained their confidence over the half-time break and equalised despite being a man down. Totti's pass for David Pizarro was intercepted by Maxwell, but the Brazilian passed it straight to Perrotta for a quick low finish from the penalty spot.

Inter restored their advantage the moment they raised the tempo again. Doni did well to parry Cambiasso's strike after he combined with Crespo, but the former Chelsea hitman volleyed in the loose ball.

Cruz created a goal out of nothing. He was 20 metres out when he received from Figo and unleashed a sudden left-footed daisy-cutter that caught Doni by surprise at the near post for 3-1.

The Nerazzurri took control and were brimming with confidence. A corner kick was worked down the left and Figo crossed for Ivan Cordoba's free header at the far post for 4-1.

Luciano Spalletti introduced Cicinho and Mirko Vucinic. But recognising that the Champions League tie with Manchester United is coming up on Tuesday, he also replaced Totti with Mauro Esposito.

But Inter's city rivals AC Milan continue to struggle with a 1-1 draw with Catania.

Jorge Martinez gave Catania a 25th-minute lead before Kaka equalised from the penalty spot after Edusei was punished for a handball shortly after the re-start.

Udinese came from behind to beat Parma 2-1 at the Friuli Stadium.

Parma went ahead through Bernardo Corradi in the 72nd minute.

Udinese threw everybody forward and equalised in the 79th minute through substitute Fabio Quagliarella before Cristian Zapata won it in the second minute of stoppage-time for the home side.

Reggina are still without a win this season after a second-half equaliser from Lazio's Aleksandar Kolarov earned a 1-1 draw.

Looking to spark their flagging campaign into life, the southerners took a seventh-minute lead through midfielder Francesco Cozza but the Biancoceleste grabbed the share of the spoils in a lively encounter at the Oreste Granillo Stadium.

The frustrated hosts ended the game with 10 men following the dismissal of Francesco Modesto.

Siena continue to search for an elusive first win of the season after Cagliari claimed a 1-0 win at the Stadio Sant'Elia.

Pasquale Foggia scored from the penalty spot early in the match, and that goal proved decisive as the home side claimed only their second win of the campaign.

Empoli posted their first victory of the Serie A season with a thrilling come-from-behind 3-1 win over 10-man Palermo.

Edison Cavani had put the Sicilian visitors in front just before the break to leave the home fans facing the prospect of another defeat.

But, after Nicola Pozzi had equalised and following the dismissal of Palermo's Fabio Caserta, a late goal from substitute Sebastian Giovinco and a stoppage-time penalty from Ighli Vannucchi completed the job for the Tuscany-based club.

Substitute Antonio Cassano sealed a 3-0 win for Sampdoria at home to Atalanta with his first goal for the club after goals from Claudio Bellucci and Paolo Sammarco.

Napoli fans were not allowed into the Stadio San Paolo for the match with Genoa, but they may have been glad to have missed it after Giuseppe Sculli's last-minute strike condemned them to a 2-1 defeat.

The misbehaviour of a small number of fans at the midweek win over Livorno meant the game was played behind closed doors, a fact which may have been some consolation to Paolo Cannavaro when he put through his own net after 12 minutes.

But Maurizio Domizzi equalised from the penalty spot seven minutes after the break and the game seemed to be headed for a draw until Sculli struck.  PA Sport

Il bomber bianconero decide al 3' di recupero un derby di scarse emozioni: Juve da sola al secondo posto.

Il derby del Centenario parte con alcune novità in campo, tutte su sponda juventina. Ranieri ha infatti deciso di spostare Chiellini al centro, al fianco di Legrottaglie, mentre a sinistra gioca Molinaro. A centrocampo Palladino al posto di Almiron, con Del Piero-Trezeguet terminale offensivo del 4-4-2 bianconero. Nel Torino invece è Paolo Zanetti il sostituto dell'acciaccato Rosina, con Recoba alle spalle di Ventola.

L'Inter stravince a Roma, 4-1 pesante: è prima da sola

I nerazzurri si impongono all'Olimpico con le reti di Ibrahimovic (su rigore), Crespo, Cruz e Cordoba. I giallorossi trovano il momentaneo pari con Perrotta, poi franano. Fondamentale l'espulsione di Giuly al 28' in occasione del rigore dello 0-1.

L'Inter stravince a Roma e si ritrova per la prima volta in questo campionato da sola in testa alla classifica. Il 4-1 finale è un segnale importante lanciato a tutte le avversarie: i nerazzurri sono i primi favoriti anche in questa stagione in chiave scudetto. La vittoria a Roma lo scorso anno fu l'inizio della fuga, vedremo se i nerazzurri sapranno concedere il bis. È la vittoria soprattutto di Mancini, che, ma è facile dirlo a posteriori, azzecca sia il modulo iniziale che i cambi: i subentrati Crespo e Cruz completano il tabellino dei marcatori insieme a Ibrahimovic (su rigore), Perrotta e Cordoba, decidendo la partita. È stata una gara anomala, fortemente condizionata dall'espulsione di Giuly avvenuta alla mezzora in occasione del fallo (di mano) che ha ha causato il rigore del primo svantaggio. Gara piena d errori, tecnici e tattici, anche marchiani, che hanno originato soprattutto le prime due reti, ma anche di pregevoli gesti tecnici, bello soprattutto il gol di Crespo, per l'azione che lo ha originato. Rilievi che non devono far passare in secondo piano i meriti dell'Inter, che dopo un inizio di stagione discreto ma non brillante, nel momento più difficile, quando Perrotta ha segnato l'1-1, ha tirato fuori il meglio di sè. Giocando bene e facendo valere il suo immenso, straordinario arsenale d'attacco. La Roma non esce ridimensionata, ma deve riflettere sulle 8 reti subìte nelle ultime tre gare.

Empoli-Palermo 

Arriva dopo sei giornate la prima vittoria in campionato per l'Empoli, con una splendida rimonta maturata nel secondo tempo. Pozzi, Giovinco e Vannucchi rispondono al gol iniziale di Cavani. Boccata d’ossigeno fondamentale per la squadra di Cagni, che in un sol colpo trova punti e morale. Per Colantuono e il Palermo continua il tabù Empoli (l’anno scorso due sconfitte su due partite) che fa scivolare i rosanero al quarto posto in compagnia di Juve, Udinese e Napoli.

Napoli-Genoa

I rossoblù vanno in vantaggio su autogol di Cannavaro, si fanno raggiungere dal ritorno degli uomini di Reja - privi dell'apporto del loro pubblico - con Domizzi ma poi riescono a trovare il gol di rapina nel finale grazie a Sculli.

Livorno-Fiorentina

Nel secondo anticipo della 6ª giornata, prima doppietta in serie A per l'attaccante argentino dei viola. Santana, autore di entrambi gli assist, segna poi il 3-0. Tra gli amaranto, espulsi il tecnico Orsi nell'intervallo e Loviso nella ripresa
