Inter Milan Javier Zanetti scored an 89th-minute equaliser to deny 10-man Roma a crucial victory and maintain their comfortable lead at the top of Serie A. Fiorentina move back into fourth place above AC Milan.

Francesco Totti rediscovered his scoring touch to fire Roma into a 38th-minute lead and he looked to have blown the title race wide open until Javier Zanetti salvaged a late point for the league leaders.

Roma, who had France defender Philippe Mexes sent off in the 85th minute, remain nine points adrift of Inter with 13 games to go in the Scudetto race.

Fiorentina bounced back immediately from their defeat to Roma with a 1-0 victory over Tuscan rivals Livorno.
