London: The humble Fiat 500 has beaten the likes of Lotus and Lamborghini to take the title of the World's sexiest car, as decided by Britain's Top Gear magazine.
Top Gear says the 500 has "the allure of the wholesome and uncomplicated". The new system, called EARTH (Ecological Activity for Refuse Treatment at High-Altitude), was presented Wednesday by its creators - Italian renewable-energy firm Actelios and the National Research Council's Ev-K2-CNR Committee. |

Italy host Anti-Racism Football Tournament(uefa.com) Simon, Jason and Cally came all the way from Texas to play in the tenth UEFA-backed Mondiali Antirazzisti, the Anti-Racist World Cup, in Montecchio, in the centre of Italy between Reggio Emilia and Parma. They joined more than 7,000 players from different parts of the world to share what they described as "a fantastic experience and a great message against racism". 'Great experience' "People here are direct, passionate, vocal," Cally told uefa.com while preparing ravioli outside her tent in the middle of a huge campsite during a break between games. "The message is clear: we're all here to loudly express our opinion against racism. This is a great experience, I don't think that something this big could have happened in the States." ModaItalia: Piaggio scooters makes stock market debut |

Italy's motorbike and scooter maker Piaggio made a brilliant debut on the Milan stock market on Tuesday leaping 8.91% from the price established in its initial public offering. Many observers had doubts about the timing of Piaggio's market debt given the current slump on international markets. However, Piaggio Chairman Roberto Colaninno never had any doubts and said the share's positive performance was "not a matter of courage but a job well done".
Looking towards the future, Colaninno said Piaggio's goals were "those we have set out in our programs and plan. Growth is our prime target and what happened on the market gives us every reason for optimism". One of the main reasons why Piaggio went on the market was to allow creditor banks which accepted a debt-for-equity swap to sell their shares and recover their exposure. |
