On Sunday 10 May at 8pm SBS Radio presents Sydney's most accomplished Italian-Australian musicians, in a special concert event to raise money for the victims of the Abruzzo earthquake.
The devastating earthquake earlier this month killed nearly 300 people, and left more than 20,000 people homeless in the Abruzzo region in Italy. ![]() Italian-Australians Guy Strazz, described as a virtuoso of the electro-acoustic classical and steel-string guitar. ![]() Virna Sanzone, who is emerging as one of Australia's most captivating singers. Her passionate delivery and understated approach have seen her compared to vocal masters such as Roberta Flack and kd lang. ![]() Roman-born Carlotta Centanni will also feature at the inspiring fundraiser. Centanni has an extensive musical CV, winning critical acclaim both for her albums and live performances renowned jazz club La Palma and at various venues in Rome. ![]() Italian-Australian Woman of the Year, soprano and mardi-gras cabaret diva Nadia Piave with veteran guitarist Gino Pengue. ![]() Extraordinary 2nd generation musical family D'Abruzzo, fronted by the flamboyant 20 year old Aaron D'Abruzzo and his pioneering dad Maurice, who was actually born in Italy's Abruzzo region. Italian SBS Radio’s Abruzzo Earthquake Fundraising Concert @ the basement SBS Radio presents Sydney’s most accomplished Italian-Australian musicians playing a range of jazz and funk music in a special concert for the victims of the earthquake that on April 6 killed 300 people, left tens of thousands homeless and devastated countless communities in the Italian region of Abruzzo. All proceeds will be donated to the Australian Abruzzo Earthquake Appeal Fund (donations are tax deductible). After travelling to Australia for a holiday, Guy established new roots in Sydney where he attended the NSW Conservatorium of Music.
