Formula One: Ferrari finished behind McLaren (English/Italian) Print E-mail
Sunday, 08 April 2007
Alonso won the Malaysian GP ahead of FerrariFerrari managed to finish third (Raikkonen) and fifth (Massa) in a McLaren dominated Malaysian GP on Sunday. Australian Mark Webber finished in tenth place for Red Bull Ferrari.

Ferrari finished the Malaysian GP in 3rd and 5th places. Hamilton withstood intense pressure from Felipe Massa in the opening stages, having gone around the outside of the Brazilian in Turn 2 on the first lap. He then fended off the close attentions of a rapidly-closing Kimi Raikkonen, who took third place just 0.7s behind the McLaren.

Massa dropped behind Raikkonen and BMW Sauber’s Nick Heidfeld after making a mistake in a failed bid to re-pass Hamilton early on. From there he was unable to recover and eventually came in fifth, three seconds down on Heidfeld.

Giancarlo Fisichella took sixth place for Renault, ahead of Toyota’s Jarno Trulli, while Heikki Kovalainen fought back from his Melbourne disappointment to score his first world championship point in eighth.
