AusItalia.com and members would like to take this opportunity to wish all L'Aquila citizens and rescue workers strength in this shocking time. The earthquake, measuring 6.2, struck in the early hours of Monday morning in the central Italian town of L'Aquila and its surrounding provinces. Over 50,000 citzens are now homeless and the Italian rescue forces are working tirelessly to set up temporary shelter for the needy. The unofficial death toll stands at 279 (Thursday April 9) and over 1500 people have suffered injuries. Please, even in these times of financial instability, find a way to give to the unfortunate.
