![]() It seems that drama chases Italy all around the world. Italy beat Australia 1-Nil. Australia bow out of the Fifa World Cup and Italy live to fight another day. Forza Australia and Forza Italia! Hundreds of thousands of Australians gathered in big cities to watch the Aus-Italia clash and Brisbane was no exception, thanks to 'Arrivederci Pizzeria', 'La Dolce Vita Caffe' (both of Park Road, Milton) and with the help of AusItalia.com's DJ David Ferrini. I was lucky enough to witness the crowd at Park Road in Milton from the top of 'La Dolce Vita Caffe's' tower, playing pre-game music to probably the largest crowd I will ever DJ in front of in my life - 25,000. The Park Road build up to the second round game between the Socceroos and the Azzurri began in the early afternoon, with TV camera crews arriving to set-up for the long night ahead, as the game kicked off at 1am AEST. Queensland Roar captain Chad Gibson was at 'La Dolce Vita' for an afternoon photo shoot and returned for the game where he handed out some prizes at half time from 'Ferrini Hair Studio'. (Chad can be seen juggling a football in this article) The atmosphere was amazing, as a sea of Gold and a wave of Blue washed up on Park Road for the all important knock out clash. I had the best view of anybody in the street, overlooking the football fans and the giant screens supplied by Joe from "La Dolce Vita' and David from "Arrivederci Pizzeria'. The mood was sizzling, the chants were actually in key and football fans in Australia were the real winners. The majority of the crowd left somewhat dissapointed, but most fans were just happy that Australia was there - actually in the Fifa World Cup, putting up a fight against a three time World Cup winner. This occasion matched the greatness of the night that I went to Sydney's Stadium Australia to watch the Socceroos defeat Uruguay in a penalty shoot-out to qualify Australia for Germany - absolutely fantastic!
