Victoria has wasted a gilt-edged opportunity to book a second successive Pura Cup final berth by sliding to a 101-run loss to Queensland at the Gabba.
The scalps of David Hussey and captain Cameron White either side of the lunch interval wounded the Victorians, last year's losing finalists, with Ashley Noffke delivering the knockout blow with two wickets in two balls.
Noffke finished with 5-50 and the man-of-the-match award.
The Bushrangers, dismissed for 122, will be kicking themselves after playing some rash strokes with plenty of time to chase down a modest 224 target.
White was Victoria's last hope after Hussey threw away his wicket the last ball before lunch for 16, his reckless pull off Queensland quick Grant Sullivan (3-40) sending the visitors into the interval rocking.
Then, having already lost five in the morning session, White handed Andy Bichel (2-32) his second wicket when a flashing back foot drive only picked out Greg Moller at point, who took a comfortable head-high catch. Queensland 1st innings 119
