Champion leg-spinner Shane Warne has helped his County side Hampshire secure a draw against Middlesex, but not with the ball.
The leading Test wicket-taker in the history of the game made a stubborn 61 not out in an unbroken 113-run eighth-wicket partnership with Nic Pothas (74 not out).
After Middlesex posted a winning target of 330 following Ed Smith's impressive undefeated 147, Hampshire started shakily and were reduced to 4-87 on the final day.
But with Warne and Pothas providing a match-saving rearguard, Hampshire was able to see the match out when on 7-283. (sportal.com.au) |
