Queensland Roar coach Frank Farina has saved the day after mowing down a would-be bag snatcher in Brisbane's stylish inner-city cafe precint of Milton yesterday.
The former Socceroo was relaxing at AusItalia sponsor La Dolce Vita Caffe on Park Road in Milton alongside former Brisbane Lions defender Richard Champion as a suspicious looking male loitered. The thief, lacking in pace, was chased across Park Road by the fearless AusItalian and former Marconi coach (Farina) before being halted by an oncoming delivery truck.
Witnesses say that Farina showed no fear and did not think twice before administering justice. All in all a great start for the Queensland coach prior to the A-League campaign which starts this weekend with Farina's side taking on Adelaide United at Suncorp stadium in Brisbane on Saturday night.
