The Roar were a threatening force in the first half but had to wait until the 63rd minute to find a winner - a powerful strike by the fleet-footed Reinaldo cannoned into the back of the net to provide the only scoring highlight of the contest. United had some desperate shots in the final half hour of the clash which excited its home crowd of 10,705. But they had too many players missing in action and it was almost inevitable the Roar would break their three-game winning streak. It's also the first game the Reds have lost in six weeks. The win sees Queensland move to 16 points and strengthen its top-four aspirations. Queensland Roar 1 Reinaldo 63' Wellington Phoenix has broken its four-game losing streak with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over cellar dwellers Perth Glory at Members Equity Stadium on Friday night. Despite being on the back foot for the majority of the contest, the Phoenix broke through Perth's defence in the 51st minute courtesy of Brazilian Daniel, whose strike not only sealed all three points for the visitors but also kept their top-four hopes alive. Queensland (16 points) currently occupies fourth spot on the table after its 1-0 win over Adelaide, meaning Wellington (11 points) stays within touch of finals football. Perth, meanwhile, remains anchored to the foot of the table with just six points to its name and a winless streak that has reached 18 matches, dating back to last November. Perth 0 Sydney FC made it two from two under new coach John Kosmina with a 1-0 victory over the Newcastle Jets at EnergyAustralia Stadium thanks to a gem from English import Michael Bridges. Central Coast Mariners went to the outright lead of the Hyundai A-League when they scored a thrilling 2-1 win over Melbourne Victory at Bluetongue Stadium, Gosford on Sunday. Melbourne scored in the 77th minute with a goal to Carlos Hernandez before the Mariners equalised in the 82nd minute with a goal to Sasho Petrovski. The Mariners then escaped with the full three points in the 88th minute when Tom Pondeljak scored the winner from 20 metres out. Both sides finished the match without their full complement of players. A-League Table after Round 11
