Friday, 20 April 2007
Beltrame, Adelaide United goalkeeper A-LeagueAdelaide United has re-signed goalkeepers Daniel Beltrame and Robert Bajic for the upcoming 2007/08 Hyundai A-League season.

The pair combined for an excellent 2006/07 season, Bajic playing the first 15 rounds before being suspended, where Beltrame took over taking United to the Grand Final.

Born and bred in South Australia, Bajic was pleased to put pen to paper and sign on for another season.

"It's really good to be on board for another year. The team came up a bit short last season and it will be great to be able to hopefully help the team go a step further in my fourth year with the club," Bajic said.

Beltrame, who has plied his trade with many different clubs during a glittering career, is hoping he can help Adelaide to a profitable AFC Champions League campaign and to another successful A-League season.

"I'm delighted to be signing with Adelaide United again because I think the club is heading in the right direction and I'm honoured to be playing for the top team in Australia," Beltrame said.

"I felt like I was starting to hit my peak towards the end of last season and I'm hoping to win the championship this season."

Sydney FC's David Carney has signed a two-year deal which will see the midfielder stay with the club until the end of the 2009 Hyundai A-League season.

The 23-year-old, who made his debut with the Socceroos in Australia's Asian Cup qualifying match against Bahrain in 2006, was ecstatic at committing his future to the 2005-06 A-League champions.

"I am happy to have re-signed with Sydney FC until 2009 and confident that the club will challenge for major honours in the coming seasons," Carney said.
