AusItalia Music: Stella Nuova! Introducing Chris Sorbello PDF Print E-mail

Sample ImageAusItalians Vanessa Amorosi, Natalie Imbruglia, Gabriella Cilmi and Natalie Gauci have all stamped their musical influence on the Australian music scene. It's now time to introduce to you new Italian-Australian vocalist Chris Sorbello.

What brings together these artists with Chris Sorbello is much the
same....an ability to have had their talent identified at an early
age, the relentless thirst to succeed, a supporting family unit and
inspiring music that appeals to the Gen Y genre.

"I remember clearly from a young age my mum supporting my passion for
music and taking me from performance to performance and always
encouraging me"

Chris (aka Christina) grew up in Brisbane and at an early age was
performing across Italian Festivals and various small live venues. Her
passion for music had been brimming and all that was missing was the
opportunity to prove her undoubted talents of songwriting and
performing as she was blooming through her teenage years.

Fast forward to 2007 and Chris has since hooked up with reknowned
Songwriting and Production duo DNA (funnily enough also of italian
heritage) - DNA had written hits for Ricky Lee, Dean Geyer, Shannon
Noll, Amy Pearson, Jessica Mauboy to name a few and were looking for
an artist that would allow them to further express their prodigious
writing talent.

A partnership was formed and the writing and recording started in
earnest with  over 12 tracks written so far and interest from major
labels ever present.

Along the way Chris' music had the good fortune of being discovered by
some influential international DJ's who have gone on to remix some of
her music including Gold Coast DJs David Ferrinni and Marco De Mark who
recently had a UK No 1 Club chart hit with "Tiny Dancer".

The Marco De Mark remix version of the track "Dangerzone" is being
earmarked for release across australian clubs for some time in early
July.

"Its amazing to have your music recognised by some very cool DJ's and
then allowing them to interpret it via their own style - i think a
remix is the ultimate compliment an artist can be paid"

When considering how many kids aspire to a music career its amazing to
note the resilience that is needed to succeed - heartache is never to
far away...   "Patience has become my best friend - I have come to
realise that having great people around you is so important in getting
everything right, from there things will simply fall into place"

Hopefully it wont be too long before we get to cheer on another
Italian/Australian making great music on the australian and world
music charts.
