Superbikes: Bayliss-Biaggi, Aus-Italia combo in Rome PDF Print E-mail
Superbikes in RomeItalian Max Biaggi and Australian Troy Bayliss claimed a win each in the two Superbike races in Rome on the weekend.

Bayliss was second in the first race behind Max Biaggi and then turned the tables on the Italian in the second at the Vallelunga circuit.

But the series is beyond his reach with leader James Toseland claiming enough points from his third place in the opening race to ensure Bayliss can not catch him.

The Brit crashed in the second race but his 396 points ensure only Biaggi or Japan's Noriyuki Haga can catch him in the standings.

Toseland's lead was cut to 29 points, as Biaggi moved into second place with only one round remaining. Noriyuki Haga is third, 33 points behind Toseland.

The season wraps up in Magny Cours, France, next weekend.   AAP
