Australia's Rachael Grinham fought back from two games down to win her third British Open squash title on Monday night.
Grinham, the No.3 seed, beat top seed and world No.1 Nicol David of Malaysia 7-9 4-9 9-3 10-8 9-1 in a marathon match lasting 89 minutes at Manchester's National Squash Centre. The 30-year-old Queenslander, who beat her second-seeded younger sister Natalie Grinham in the semifinals, also won the title in 2003 and 2004. Her latest victory denied David, who has been the world's leading player for 17 straight months, a hat-trick of titles at the tour's oldest event. AAP |
