Kylie Ann Minogue was born on May 28, 1968 in Melbourne, Australia.

When she was ten years old, Kylie went with her sister to audition for "The Sullivans" and got the part of Carla.
Kylie's big break came in 1986 when she was cast as car mechanic Charlene on the popular Australian soap opera "Neighbours".

During her two and a half years on "Neighbours", Kylie recorded her debut single, a remake of the classic 1962 track "The Locomotion", introducing her to the pop music scene. Her string of successful hit singles took off with the release of "I Should Be So Lucky", and was followed by "Got To Be Certain", "Je Ne Sais Pas Pour Qui", "Hand On Your Heart", "Wouldn't Change A Thing", and "Never Too Late" from her self-titled debut album and the follow up "Enjoy Yourself". Kylie's success grew even more after several duets with her "Neighbours" co-star, Jason Donovan.

After Kylie's debut film role in "The Delinquents" (1989), the '90s saw Kylie turn into a sexy superstar. The newly transformed Kylie was now gaining more media coverage than ever, and was signed to a deal with DeConstruction Records. She even jumped on the Madonna erotic literature bandwagon and wrote a sex book of her own, but it never saw the light of day.

In 1994 Kylie released a second self-titled album that was grungier than the first. She also appeared as Lt. Cammy in the live-action adaptation of "Street Fighter" (1994).
In 1996, she collaborated with the Manic Street Preachers, and released an album the following year entitled "Impossible Princess".

Although her later albums did not see the same commercial success as her more poppy ones, Kylie Minogue is still one of Australia's greatest exports. She was last seen performing the ABBA classic "Dancing Queen" and "On A Night Like This" at the closing ceremony of the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. She recently released "Fever", a collection of post-disco electro-funk.

And the 39 year-old has since gone on to release the 2003 smash album Body Language featuring "Can't Get You Out of My Head" and "Love At First Sight", and then Ultimate Kylie (greatest hits) in 2004.

2005 was a different year for the slarlet after being diagnosed with breast cancer. But since her recovery has gone on to perform once again on the centre-stage.
